Dorset Crossing Groundbreaking in Simsbury:

RM Bradley is pleased to announce that The Keystone Companies officially broke ground on Hopmeadow Street along Route 10 in Simsbury on Wednesday November 30, 2011 to begin construction on the new Dorset Crossing development site.

The site will include approximately 50,000 square feet of new medical space in three buildings, two retail pad sites and residential units in the rear portion of the site.

“The first building is designed for maximum efficiency and synergy among its tenants, and for the community as well,” said Tony Giorgio, Managing Director, The Keystone Companies.  “There is a significant residential population of approximately 220,000 people who live near Dorset Crossing and because it sits on route 10, it will support convenient access for the Simsbury and Granby communities,” concluded Giorgio.

The site will include a 15,000 square foot medical office building with Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center under lease to occupy 10,000 square feet as anchor tenant.  The medical office space is expected to be completed by September, 2012.  Physician offices, an urgent care service, and a community room for public lectures are currently being considered for the space.

This will be Saint Francis Care’s seventh access center complex; other Saint FrancisCare access center facilities are located in Avon, Bloomfield, East Hartford, Ellington, Enfield and Glastonbury.

In addition to the medical and retail portions of the site, a multi-family rental apartment has been approved for 36 units.  A master plan of 300 additional rental units remains under review by the town of Simsbury.  Final approval is expected during the first quarter of 2012.

The entire complex is expected to be fully operational by 2015.
